DeVeDe is a program to create video DVDs and CDs (VCD, sVCD or CVD), suitable for home players, from almost any video format. This program allows you to take the videos you've taken or edited with programs like the Open Shot Video Editor and make them into DVD movies complete with menus.

AcidRip is an application for copying video DVD discs. It both rips and encodes the video. AcidRip also automates a number of aspects, allowing an entire DVD to be encoded with just one click. Cheese is a webcam application for recording videos and pictures from supported webcams and other video devices. It is similar to Apple's Photo Booth.

Brasero is a free CD and DVD burning program available on linux which allows for burning of both data and audio CDs and DVDs. With it you can Burn, Copy and Erase CD/DVD, Add new sessions to multi-session CDs & DVDs, and create audio CDs including CD Text with artist and track information.
